Photo Archives
Photography is more than an art form; photographs can literally be slices of history and can be used as an analytical tool. Many scholars have incorporated photography into their work to provide an alternative method for historical analysis. There are also certain limitations associated with Using Photos As History.
The photo archive is searchable based on the four themes of Civilization as well as the features of each photograph that indicate the associated theme(s). Using the visualization tool and searchable archive, the presence or absence of certain features indicates the extent to which Allotment affected the reservations in Montana.
