Documents in the Archive include conceptual themes highlighted in documents to represent significant arguments, ideas, and rhetoric. The conceptual themes in the documents represent editorial decisions by the project team. Users can use concept highlighting to unveil narrative elements in documents and understand recurring themes in the written record of Buffalo Bill's Wild West.

The Concept Map aggregates the elements of the Concept Highlighting and visualizes the frequency of thematic elements. Each square in the Concept Map represents a thematic point. Hovering a mouse pointer over a square shows which document is referenced, and clicking the square takes users to the specific document.

The Timeline, developed by MIT's SIMILE, visualizes significant events in the history of Buffalo Bill's Wild West as it concerns Native Americans in the Show. Scroll through the timeline to view events or click titles to view further information.

TokenX »

TokenX is text analysis software developed by Brian Pytlik-Zillig at the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities at the University of Nebraska. TokenX allows users to visualize text in ways that can provide insights into the relationships within discourse and rhetoric across texts. Within TokenX, users can select from a dropdown individual documents to analyze or entire corpus of documents.
